Victorian Rococo oval mirror   A pretty & decorative Victorian Rococo oval mirror with a richly detailed gilt frame and lightly foxed original glass, giving it that soft, atmospheric reflection only age can create. The ornate crest and scrolling carved detail are classic Rococo Revival, while the hand-cut wooden back and old fixings confirm it as a genuine 19th-century piece rather than a later reproduction. The blue painted band appears to be a later addition, adding a subtle contrast that actually works rather nicely against the warm gilt tones. I rather like it, it’s one of those pieces that just works wherever you put it… hallway, above a fireplace, even propped casually.
